7 Tips To Properly Maintain Your Motorcycle (Part 1)


 Preventative maintenance is very important for motorcycles. You're putting your life and your passenger at risk for an accident if you wait for something to go wrong before fixing it.

1.  Regular before trips checks, monthly checks, and then annual maintenance and tune-ups.

2. Check your tire treads weekly. Clean and look for cuts and scrapes on your tires which could cause a blowout.  Have the right tire air pressure . Many blowouts is because of low air pressure.


3.  Check front and back  wheels for loose or missing parts. Check the rims for cracks and damaged parts.

4.  Lift the wheels above the ground. Spin the wheels and watch the motion. Listen for any noise and move the wheels to check for any looseness in the installation.

5.  Inspect the motorcycle controls for any loose operation, and observe any broken strands in your cables. Put lubricant on the mechanisms of both ends of the cables.

6.  Check the sprockets for worned teeth and oil the chain .

7.  Watch out for missing or loose bolts, nuts or cotter pins. Keep your bike clean so it's easier to spot missing parts.
